  • Gives employers an opportunity to recruit for future employee pool
  • Allows employers an opportunity to retain local talent within the area
  • Employer receives intelligent, interested, skilled, diverse socio-economic interns at a minimal hourly wage ($7 - $12 an hour)
  • Students are highly motivated to perform above expectation because in addition to receiving compensation for their work, they are also receiving a class grade for their participation. As a result of this, educators serve as a second line of supervision to make sure the experience is a positive one for all parties involved

Expectations of the Employer

  • The employer will provide a working environment for students that is similar to that which is offered to new hires
  • To the degree necessary, the employer will provide training to student intern so that they are able to perform tasks and responsibilities to expectation
  • Employers are expected to treat student interns as they would a new hire
  • Employers are expected to submit a minimum of two work evaluations to the Academy of Finance director so that students can be graded on their work performance
  • Employers will offer an hourly wage for interns between $7 – 12 per hour
