Program Enrichment - Academy of Finance Student Conference A one-day, spring semester, conference held in Central Indiana for all Indiana AOF students (including those schools outside of Central Indiana). Seminar activities include a main opening session with a locally or nationally recognized financial services speaker followed by break-out sessions on careers in financial services and strategies for success.
- College Finance Class Second semester seniors college component. This course on finance and international business is provided through the Central Indiana Academy of Finance advisory board. This course will give Academy of Finance students transferable college credit as well as the confidence to pursue a college degree.
- Chicago Financial Markets Two-day, one-night field trip to Chicagos financial district including visits to the Federal Reserve and the Chicago Stock Exchange. This trip is designed as part of the curriculum strategy for topics in Economics for Finance, which include the Federal Reserve System and Securities Trading.
- Paid Student Internships An opportunity for Academy of Finance students (primarily juniors and seniors) to participate in a real-world work experience in their chosen profession while still in high school.
- Dress for Success Academy of Finance students are provided with program-related items such as blazers, dress shirts, pullovers, shoulder bags and pens. This promotes pride and professionalism for the student during the internship and at school on Dress Up days. This also promotes the Central Indiana AOF program to industries and for student recruitment.
- Mentor Business Luncheon Central Indiana Academy of Finance seniors provide a luncheon for business partners. Seniors are matched up with professionals from financial services industry. This provides students with the opportunity to develop personal skills in etiquette, networking, and presentation. It also provides for an opportunity to promote the Central Indiana Academy of Finance program and member schools to industry partners.
- Financial Literacy Projects Central Indiana AOF students need hands-on activities in finance such as competitive stock market simulations, IRS tax filing training programs so Central Indiana AOF students can assist elderly and others, and financial literacy outreach programs where Central Indiana AOF students teach others about money and investing with emphasis on younger students.
- College Scholarships Annual scholarship program to meet strategic goal. This program develops four types of scholarships; 1) board funded scholarships, 2) encourage utilization of existing Citigroup Scholarship, 3) college partners scholarships, and 4) corporate partners scholarships.
- Junior Students Summer Programs Currently, several business/finance education programs are offered to students during the summer after their junior year. Central Indiana AOF will encourage, promote, and sponsor Central Indiana AOF juniors to participate in these programs.
Professional Development - Externships for Central Indiana Academy of Finance Teachers Summer program for Academy of Finance teachers to work with one or more financial services industry partner companies. Students benefit from teachers who have experienced hands-on training.
- Continuing Professional Education Programs offered to Central Indiana Academy of Finance staff to enhance knowledge and provide hands-on training in technology, accounting, finance, economics and other subjects through local colleges and business partners.
- NAF Institute and Leadership Summit Educational conferences offered each year during the months of July and November by the National Academy Foundation where Central Indiana Academy of Finance teachers, directors and partners can learn best practices from other Academy of Finance programs throughout the nation.
Supplemental Curriculum Materials - Finance Reference Books Books to provide advanced study reference materials. These materials are used to complement and expand the existing National Academy Foundation curriculum.
- Subscriptions In an effort to enhance classroom resources and keep curriculum fresh, Academy of Finance schools are encouraged to subscribe to the Indianapolis Business Journal, Indiana Business, Wall Street Journal, Wall Street Journal Classroom Edition, Smart Money, Forbes, Fortune, Business Week and other periodicals including those offered in a multicultural approach.
- Central Indiana Academy of Finance Manual The development of a set of materials in a three-ring binder format as a means to establish a standardized approach on key topics that will utilize local expertise and coincide with the National Academy Foundation's AOF certification exam.
Program Growth & Development - Promotional/Marketing Materials - To meet the goal of building brand awareness in business, education, government, and public communities the Central Indiana Academy of Finance has compiled a three-part packet which includes: 1) a nationally-developed Academy of Finance brochure; 2) a profiles booklet highlighting quotes and testimonials from Central Indiana Academy of Finance students, partners, alumni, and teachers; 3) one-page inserts targeting specific needs.
- College Alumni Internships Paid summer positions for Central Indiana Academy of Finance graduates currently in college finance programs to work with current partners to make presentations for internships, assist chairperson for board retreat, and assist directors in documenting summer internships.
